This is just one of those reminders of the untamed magical beauties of nature. I think in the technological society in which we live, we take advantage of nature and its natural worth. We see nature as raw materials and resources to benefit us completely. We lose sight that nature can be enjoyable soley for the fact that it is nature. However, the downfall of the aurora is that I have to watch it via technology because I am not able to travel there. Such things as the northern lights are very touching, and are so completely incredible that these are the things that we appreciate. I have never seen these, I see the dirt and trees surrounding north carolina, something I've become so accostumed to I've lost appreciation for. The little things of nature should be appreciated as much as the "shocking thinigs"

This video is awesome! Nature never ceases to amaze me with her beauty. Watching this video and seeing how incredible nature is makes me wonder if others, who don't care a great deal about the environment, would feel other wise after watching this? It seems like every advancement we make today's world turns to be one more mark against the environment and earth's beauty... so when is enough, enough? I wish it wouldn't take a phenomenal video, like this one, for others to see how amazing nature can be, and how much it shouldn't be taken for granted.

I thought that this video was absolutely breathtaking. Seeing this video shows just how wonderful and amazing nature really can be if people just take the time to sit back and watch it. The Aurora is such a beautiful sight and is definitely a force to be reckoned with. I have always wanted to witness this incredible event and watching this video has definitely confirmed this. Sights like the northern lights is just one of the many reasons that people should be working to prevent any further blemishes of nature that could possible put an end to these magnificent natural beauties.

This video is pure evidence of the beauty of nature. With all the talk and controversies over the destruction of nature because of humans, this video really makes you step back and look at it in a different light. This video is breathtaking and gives everyone a look at how wonderful our world and nature truly is.

First I viewed the video and was in awe. I've talked about the Aurora with another professor who has seen it from Fairbanks, Alaska and I have seen other videos of this spectacular natural occurrence.

Then, I looked up the Aurora on wikipedia where it proceeded to explain why it occurs, the aurora from other planets, frequency of occurrence, historical significance and information on solar wind and the magnetosphere. All very cool, measurable, scientific topics to be sure, but...

I viewed the video again. And it was a little less amazing when I could explain it all away. Sometimes technology is helpful, being able to watch this video from my computer in North Carolina instead of having to travel to the Alaskan frontier, for example. And other times it takes away form what could have been a greater experience, and has been for others before technology disillusioned them.

To me, this shows the importance of slowing down every now and then and really looking at your surroundings. This video speeds up video taken of the aurora borealis and other scenes of nature in northern lands over a long span of time. The beauty of the scenes can clearly be seen with this technology, but if one were to stop and watch their environment for more than a few minutes, they would see similar beauty with their own eyes. It is amazing that such effects are needed to notice beauty around us. So many people are so absorbed in technology and their daily lives that they let things pass by very easily.

This video captured nature at its best. The musical selection was a great choice and added to the aura of the beauty of nature. The video portrayed nature as if it were magical. Which I believe is true to a certain extent in the sense that magic is an art, and nature is an artistic masterpiece. We often forget the true beauty of nature as we overlook it from day to day as a mere object of our surroundings. This video gave us a minute to pause and appreciate mother nature. After all, we can not live without it.

Ever since I was a little kid I was in awe of the Aurora Borealis or "Northern Lights" in the north pole. Its beauty and mystery always astounded me. There are only a few things that I have told myself that I have to do in my life, and one of them is to see the aurora borealis or aurora australis, or the "Southern lights." The beauty of nature is something that can never quite be described but it is better to be witnessed.

This video really makes me take a step back and think about nature. Our lives are so busy with school, work, worrying about topics in the news and global warming, and attached to computers or phones that most people don't go outside and just take in how beautiful nature is. I have always wanted to see the Northern Lights and I would love to show that to my kids one day. I think everyone should put everything down, take a break from work and the busy routines we have and just go take a drive or a walk through the country, or take a family vacation somewhere. We are losing that sense of family and I believe thats what eventually leads obesity. Kids aren't going out and enjoying the beautiful nature that we have because they don't see their parents doing it. I don't know many people who actually take family vacations anymore.

I thought this video was beautiful and it is hard to imagine that such natural beauty still exists in this world. In Ohio where I'm from, the sky is nothing but pollution and smog and when you can see the stars, they are very dim. I have actually seen the Northern Lights in their true beauty when I went on vacation to Minnesota. Even though it was 4 years ago, I can still remember my parents waking me up at 3 in the morning to watch the Northern Lights and see the milky way. In the middle of no where in Minnesota, the sky was so clear and all you could see were the stars and lights. It truly is a spectacular phenomenon and I encourage everyone to go witness it sometime in their life.

I have always been fascinated with the "northern lights" ever since I was a little girl. The fact that something so beautiful can take place without the assistance of man is spectacular. This video just goes to show the magnificent beauty of nature that many people today let go unnoticed. It is a sight to see and I hope one day I can see it for myself, for I feel that a video does not do the great natural beauty justice.
